This piece is for Harlem. This is one in a series that celebrates the cultural heritage of New York City and it's boroughs (I am aware that Harlem is not technically a "borough", but culturally it certainly is). This artwork was originally concieved to be used solely on t-shirts. Anyhow, to explain this one would be a sin. So, if you "get it" you "get it", and if you have to ask, you'll never know. There is some VERY heavy borrowing from ancient Egyptian art and religious symbolism, and that's all I have to say about that.
